The last but not the least of our Baobab Guardians

We have 9 more trees to measure in the Baobab Guardians program around November this year and then we have accomplished more than our initial objectives for the Guardians that we started off with in 2014. Our focus onward, will be more on our exciting Baobab wilding programme. These last 9 trees are dotted around Dambale village in the Limpopo […] Continue Reading

Looking Back: Proud Moments for Baobab Guardians

There is something magical about taking part in a creative process that helps to bring something into existence that wasn’t there before. I believe that is why our Baobab Guardian program has been so successful; people love to be part of creative magic, and Nature is all about exactly that!

101 Baobab Trees!

At the end of 2020, we planted the last 9 baobab trees.

This brings the total number of trees planted as part of our Baobab Guardians program to 101 although we had initially aimed at 100.  The extra 1 was due to one of the enthusiastic neighbours in Dambale village who also wanted to have a tree to take care of :-).  We think 101 baobab trees has a nice ring to it!

Which is why the work of the Baobab Guardians becomes so important.

We did it! 50 baobab trees planted!

We’re thrilled to announce that what began as a dream in November 2013 has become a reality today! We have planted 50 baobab trees in the wild thanks to the help of our wonderful sponsors.  Baobab trees can live to over a thousand years old, are tough and sturdy and can survive near desert-like conditions. So why do we need to nurture baobab seedlings until they are strong enough to survive in the wild?
